The AIR program requires all student participants to have the following qualifications. Additionally, students must follow our AIR Program guidelines while participating within the AIR Program.

We require these qualifications and guidelines so that we may be able to better serve those applicants that are actively pursuing higher education no matter what there academic status is.

Note: AIR is a San Diego County Based Program

 

Section 2-001 Student Participant

The student must be in grades 9 through 12 and in an accredited high school and be between the ages of 13 - 19 or participating in a home study program. Participants should be American Indians but need not show Tribal affiliation. Exceptions can be made at the discretion of the AIR Programs Board.

Section 2-002 GPA

The student participant must maintain a 2.5 GPA in high school. Exceptions can be made at the discretion of the AIR Programs Board.

 

Section 2-003 Student Participant Contract

Each student participant must sign a contract of understanding of the rules, guidelines, and what is required of the student at the start of AIR program semester or upon entering a ongoing AIR program semester for the first time.

Section 2-004 Mandatory Student Application

Each Student participant must submit an application to the AIR program at least by the second meeting in which he or she has participated within. This application must be an official AIR application including the following: parental authorization, emergency contacts, class schedule, and essay.

Section 2-005 Student Attendance

Each Student participant must attend at least 80% of the general AIR program meeting excluding field trips. Upon any absence the student must contact by phone call, e - mail, or previous discussion the session leader or administrator. We do this to accurately account for the AIR student participant if he or she will be on campus for their protection. Upon too many absences the participant may be dropped from the program at the discretion of the AIR Programs Board.

Section 2-006 Disciplinary Actions

Disciplinary action procedure will be followed under Section 1. (not shown) Students are to follow all rules and guidelines that are presented to them at orientation. Exceptions: See Section 1-004.

NOTE: All rules will be followed at all times during any AIR Program related activity including transportation of students to and from activities.
